Plagiarism
Plagiarism is taking someone else's work and saying you created it. Plagiarism is stealing. Students may get into a lot of trouble for plagiarism. There are several books available for check-out in the library to help students learn about plagiarism.
Intellectual Freedom (ALA)
"Intellectual freedom is the right of every individual to both seek and receive information from all points of view without restriction. It provides for free access to all expressions of ideas through which any and all sides of a question, cause or movement may be explored" (ALA).
Equitable Access (ALA)
"Equity of access means that all people have the information they need - regardless of age, education, ethnicity, language, income, physical limitations or geographic barriers. It means they are able to obtain information in a variety of formats - electronic, as well as print. It also means they are free to exercise their right to know without fear of censorship or reprisal" (ALA).
